Crown Castle deploys JMA Wireless DAS at Rutgers University, Delivering Mobile Capacity and Performance at Scarlet Knights Games
JMA Wireless and Crown Castle deliver complete end-to-end Teko DAS solution and services for High Point Solutions Stadium to ensure a powerful end-user mobile experience.
Liverpool, NY - August 18, 2014 -- JMA Wireless, a global leader in wireless solutions, announced today that they are deploying a new Distributed Antenna System (DAS) for High Point Solutions Stadium, home to the Scarlet Knights, Rutgers University’s Football team. The solution will be deployed and operated in coordination with Crown Castle International Corp. (NYSE:CCI) (“Crown Castle”), a global leader in wireless infrastructure operations and services.
“Today’s sports fans expect to stay connected throughout an entire event experience,” said Dan Cassinelli, VP of North American Sales for JMA Wireless, “The combination of our leading technology in the Teko System together with our working jointly with Crown Castle will ensure the Scarlet Knights’ fans an excellent game day experience.”
The Teko System answers stadium capacity and coverage needs with its advanced multi-carrier DAS solution, including the JMA Wireless PIM optimized Universal Compression Connectors and Antennas that ensure the fastest overall performance. JMA’s unique patented design reduces the interference that directly impacts mobile quality and data performance, enabling ubiquitous cellular coverage and capacity for the 52,454-seat stadium, enhancing the game day experience for fans and stadium employees and the stadium’s overall business operations.
“The JMA Wireless Teko System is a perfect fit for environments like Rutgers where multi-carrier coverage and capacity are needed in an efficient and cost effective solution,” stated Jim Young, Crown Castle’s Chief Operating Officer, “As the hosting provider for Rutgers, our team brings both the expertise needed to deliver a state of the art design and the operations required to ensure optimum performance.”
The Teko DAS system is one of the fastest growing advanced DAS systems being deployed at high profile, high tech venues around the world including sports venues such as new Levi’s® Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49ers and the 2016 Super Bowl, Angel Stadium of Anaheim and Lincoln Financial Field, home to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Teko DAS system is being deployed across the entire High Point Solutions Stadium and will be configured to deliver a pervasive, high-performance wireless network throughout the complex. Fast deployment time to venues is critical to save costs and minimize disruption. JMA Wireless was able to deliver all DAS solution components to the stadium within two weeks after winning the project. The Teko System’s unrivaled commissioning capabilities enables the stadium to be fully operational in a matter of hours, instead of days.
“The Teko System delivery and commissioning efficiency is unmatched in the marketplace,” said Cassinelli.
The JMA solution provided answers to High Point Solutions Stadium’s unique capacity and coverage needs, utilizing several key capabilities and components from the Teko System including:
- Fiber Saving Technology – system uses a single fiber cable, delivering a cost-effective infrastructure solution that simplifies the installation while using 50% less fiber than the industry standard.
- High Power and Low Power Remotes – The Teko DAS System enables the use and management of both remotes through the one singular system. This provides ample coverage and capacity both inside and outside the stadium, covering both tailgating and spectating fans.
- Unique Stadium Antennas - featuring a low Vertical and Horizontal Beam width in a small package, a technology only offered by JMA Wireless.
