Innovation

The driving force behind our success is an obsession with innovation. Our innovation addresses everyday issues faced by our customers and develops solutions that add real value. We proudly seek and employ the best engineering talent available to ensure that our solutions exceed our customers’ and the industry’s expectations of performance, quality and reliability. Our team not only provides products to meet today’s high demands but solutions for tomorrow because the future demands it.

Laboratory

Our state-of-the-art test laboratory is among the best in the business. In fact, many of our customers utilize our facilities to conduct testing that others don’t have the means to perform. From prototype to production, our products are subjected to comprehensive Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) that far exceeds industry standards to ensure they will endure the rigor of field use. Only after a product has met our strict environmental, mechanical, electrical and RF testing will it be released to our customers. A dedicated lab staff is armed with the latest in measurement and test equipment to comprehensively verify all key product characteristics including:

Environmental Aging – All products offered by JMA are designed to perform properly over their entire service life. To ensure harmful salts and UV rays found in the atmosphere don’t deteriorate the products we subject them to 1000+ hours of salt fog concentrations significantly higher than those found in coastal environments and UV spectrum 34X more powerful than the sunshine on an average day.

Vibration Testing – Industry standard vibration testing is performed in 3 axes over a frequency range of 10-2000Hz and an acceleration of up to 20 G. Since vibrations experienced in service are random and unpredictable JMA subjects its products to random axis 10-5000Hz vibrations up to 50 G.

Thermal Cycling – JMA’s products are subjected to temperature extremes ranging from -40°C to +85°C, transitioning every hour for at least 1 month. This accelerates the aging process and ensures the products will survive long term use in the field.

Mechanical Strength Testing – At JMA, it’s our philosophy that our products must be stronger than the materials they are attached to. For instance, our coaxial connectors must withstand more pulling force and torque than the cable itself. Our lab is equipped with several compression, tensile, rotational and dynamic testing equipment capable of performing these strength tests not only at room temperature but in sub-zero and high heat conditions as well.

Moisture Migration Testing – Simply stated the industry standard IP67 and IP68 moisture migration tests are not adequate to ensure a product will survive indefinitely in outdoor, moisture laden environments. Therefore, JMA has developed proven moisture migration test methods which the products are completely submerged in pressurized fluid then thermally cycled for days, not simply dunked at room temperature for a few hours as in the IPXX tests.

RF Performance – PIM, return loss, and insertion loss testing is performed before, during and after the HALT testing described above to ensure our products perform above expectations from the day they are installed to the day they are de-commissioned. Our PIM tests are performed under highly dynamic impact and rotational conditions exceeding those found in service.
